The defendant, known as Yang, was convicted of extorting the sports icon, demanding 300 million won after falsely claiming to be pregnant with his child.
The Seoul Central District Court revealed that Yang, who has denied the charges, acted without confirming the paternity of the alleged pregnancy. She later teamed up with a man identified as Yong to attempt to extract further payment, a plot that has now resulted in her imprisonment.
Son, regarded as one of Asia's top talents, transitioned to LAFC after a successful tenure with Tottenham Hotspur.
