Max Verstappen, a four-time Formula 1 champion, is tackling a new challenge as he prepares for his debut in a 24-hour sportscar race at the iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit. The race, scheduled for May, fulfills a long-held ambition for the racing star.
Verstappen will share a Red Bull-liveried Mercedes-AMG GT3 car with racing teammates Daniel Juncadella, Jules Gounon, and Lucas Auer. Known for its formidable length and intricate layout, the Nürburgring circuit holds a special significance for motorsport enthusiasts, with its 13-mile stretch showcasing over 150 challenging corners.
After making his debut at the circuit last September in a GT4 car, Verstappen has been rapidly adapting to the demands of the track. A rigorous schedule sees him returning in March for a preparatory race before the main event, which runs from May 16 to 17, slots between Formula 1 engagements.
