In a thrilling start to the IBSF World Billiards Championship, defending champion Sourav Kothari showcased resilience against South Korea's Hwang Chulho. Despite falling 120 points behind, Kothari demonstrated his prowess by executing a pivotal 111 break, securing a 305-238 victory.

Meanwhile, Indian billiards star Pankaj Advani delivered a masterclass with a commanding 1003-54 defeat of Michael Crook from the Isle of Man. Advani's skillful breaks of 198, 297, and 117 left his opponent with little opportunity to contest.

Hopes are high for Indian players, as Dhruv Sitwala and Alok Kumar comfortably won their opening matches. Sitwala, aiming for his first world title, impressively secured a 645-115 victory, while Alok Kumar dominated with a 502-202 win.
