Madhya Pradesh Commits to Boosting India's Olympic Shooting Prospects
Madhya Pradesh Sports Minister, Vishvas Sarang, vows support for India's Olympic shooting ambitions through the NRAI's talent hunt and the Shooting League of India. Commemorating NRAI's 75th anniversary, the initiative aims to engage 7.5 lakh students nationwide, setting sights on the 2036 Olympics.
Madhya Pradesh's Sports Minister, Vishvas Sarang, has announced robust backing for the National Rifle Association of India's (NRAI) new talent hunt initiative and the Shooting League of India (SLI). The move, unveiled during the 24th Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting competition, aligns with NRAI's celebration of its 75th anniversary.
The talent hunt intends to draw 7.5 lakh school and college students into the sport of shooting. At the event held at the MP Shooting Academy in Bhopal, Sarang highlighted Madhya Pradesh's commitment to nurturing high-caliber athletes for India's 2036 Olympic bid.
Pawankumar Singh, NRAI Secretary General, praised Sarang's leadership, noting the positive impact on initiatives such as the Summer Camp Aroh-2026 and Khelo M.P. Youth Games. Singh expressed confidence that these efforts, culminating with support for SLI, would elevate shooting talent from Madhya Pradesh to the Olympic podium.
