Los Angeles Olympics organizers are actively coordinating with U.S. authorities to prevent visa issues that marred the recent soccer World Cup, according to Kirsty Coventry, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). "In two years, I am confident we will overcome the existing challenges," Coventry remarked after the IOC's executive board meeting in Lausanne.

IOC Sports Director Pierre Ducrey noted that the organizing committee has dedicated staff establishing strong ties with necessary agencies in Washington. The focus is on clarifying the profiles and roles of those involved in the event to streamline the visa process.

In addition to visa discussions, the IOC executive board approved ski mountaineering for the 2030 Winter Olympics, following its debut in Milano Cortina. However, crossover sports like cyclocross remain excluded from the 2030 Games, though future inclusion was not ruled out by the Olympic programme working group.
