Samsung brings temperature-based menstrual cycle tracking to Galaxy Watch 5
Samsung has partnered with Natural Cycles to offer advanced temperature-based menstrual cycle tracking capabilities to the Galaxy Watch 5 series users, the South Korean firm announced on Tuesday.
The new Cycle Tracking feature will be available to users in 32 countries across Europe, North America and Asia. These include Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the U.K. and the U.S.
"Consumers can now easily track their menstrual cycle right from their wrist, combining Natural Cycles’ innovative fertility technology with Samsung's superior temperature sensor to provide a more holistic understanding of their health and well-being," said Hon Pak, Vice President and Head of Digital Health Team, MX Business at Samsung Electronics.
The new temperature-based menstrual cycle tracking feature combines Samsung’s superior sensor technology including BioActive Sensor with Natural Cycles’ innovative fertility technology and algorithm to give users more detailed insight into their menstrual cycle. The new temperature sensor uses infrared technology for more accurate readings.
As far as privacy is concerned, all data is encrypted and stored on the user’s device itself, giving them more control of their health data and better peace of mind.
