Adaptability focuses on an AI system’s ability to evolve over time. Unlike traditional software, AI models are dynamic and require continuous updates to remain relevant and effective. However, unmonitored adaptability can also introduce new risks, such as model drift and unintended bias amplification. The research suggests that ongoing monitoring, ethical audits, and adaptive governance models should be integrated into AI lifecycle management to ensure responsible updates and modifications.

Translationality highlights the importance of ensuring AI’s smooth integration into real-world workflows. AI systems must be designed with domain-specific constraints in mind, ensuring that they align with existing infrastructure, regulatory requirements, and ethical norms. The study points out that a lack of translationality leads to AI tools that, while technically advanced, fail to provide meaningful benefits to users due to impractical implementation strategies.

Transversality, as previously mentioned, is a foundational pillar that ties the other three together by addressing bias and fairness in a fluid, evolving manner. This pillar emphasizes the need for AI systems to reflect societal changes and continuously adjust to ethical considerations.
