HAL & Safran Forge New Horizons in Aerospace Partnership
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has signed an agreement with Safran Aircraft Engines at the Paris Air Show for producing parts for LEAP engines. This partnership will focus on developing critical forging technology and marks a significant expansion of industrial cooperation between India and France in the aerospace sector.
During the 55th International Paris Air Show, a landmark agreement was forged between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Safran Aircraft Engines. The deal focuses on the production of rotating parts for LEAP engines, signifying a robust collaboration in the aerospace sector.
The show, held from June 16 to June 22, is a premier event organized by the French Aerospace Industries Association's subsidiary. HAL's Foundry & Forge Division will soon see the commencement of Inconel parts production, enabled by its advanced Ring Rolling facility in Bengaluru.
This agreement follows a memorandum of understanding signed in 2023 to bolster industrial cooperation in LEAP engine manufacturing. Both companies have previously agreed to co-produce super alloy forged parts, illustrating a deepening Indo-French industrial partnership.
