Tech hiring across permanent, temporary, and contractual roles is expected to rise by 12-15% in 2026, creating nearly 125,000 new jobs, according to workforce solutions provider Adecco India. The year marks a pivotal shift as non-tech industries integrate digital skills at the core of their business models, particularly in AI, data engineering, and cybersecurity.

Hiring in IT services is showing early signs of stabilization leading up to 2025. A cautious approach during 2023-24 has given way to renewed demand in AI engineering, cloud transformation, and platform modernization. Campus hiring has also seen a boost as firms restart structured early-career programs, according to Adecco India's Director of Professional Staffing, Sanketh Chengappa.

As sectors like BFSI, healthcare, manufacturing, and logistics lead the technology-driven hiring, an impending talent gap poses a challenge. With a talent deficit visible in AI, cybersecurity, and data engineering roles, and demand increasing by 51%, the upcoming years will be defined by workforce readiness rather than demand creation.
