India's Electronics Boom: Surging Ahead in Smartphone Manufacturing

India boasts unprecedented growth in electronics manufacturing, emerging as the second-largest global smartphone producer. Export value exceeded Rs 1 lakh crore in five months. Over 25 lakh jobs in electronics and one crore in IT sectors highlight government efforts, while startups and new semiconductor units point to future growth.

President Droupadi Murmu highlighted a remarkable surge in India's electronics manufacturing, propelling the nation to become the world's second-largest smartphone producer.

In her address to Parliament, she noted that exports exceeded Rs 1 lakh crore in the first five months of the fiscal year, thanks to governmental initiatives.

Murmu emphasized the creation of over 25 lakh jobs solely in electronics manufacturing and more than one crore in IT-related sectors. She announced the government's approval for new semiconductor manufacturing units, which are essential for future technological self-reliance.
