India has officially joined the US-led strategic alliance, Pax Silica, to enhance a resilient supply chain for critical minerals and artificial intelligence (AI). The signing took place at the AI Impact summit with key dignitaries including India's Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and US officials present.
The decision reflects an effort to solidify bilateral ties, further emphasized by US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, who stated that India's involvement is a strategic move to strengthen the nations' collaboration. This partnership is meant to overcome economic coercion risks in global supply chains, implicitly addressing concerns over China's influence.
Pax Silica includes several nations like Australia, Japan, and the UK, committed to fostering technological innovation and mutual prosperity. The initiative seeks to establish a durable economic order, focusing on AI-powered development across member countries, recognizing reliable supply chains as essential to economic security.
