The future of ‘Half-Life 3’ is unknown, or in other words, it is one of the greatest mysteries in the world of PC gaming. Valve Corporation’s third in a series of episodic sequels to ‘Half-Life 2’ may be in progress behind the scenes, but the positive action is missing for over a decade.

The question – What is actually ‘Half-Life 3’ – had spurred many rumors and predictions in the form of ‘supposed’ answers, but none were able to portray compacted riposte(s) against those buzzes. However, what we believe with a supporting tune with PCGames that it either may be an assortment of three short episodic games (of the previous twos already released) or a full-length sequel to ‘Half-Life 2’ added with its expansions.

Episode 1 to 3 to be ‘Half-Life 3’ – this is once cited by Valve’s co-founder, Gabe Newell during the release of ‘Half-Life 2: Episode 1’ way back in 2006. He also said in a conversation with Eurogamer that Valve had no intention to let the gamers to go through the similar experience. Whereas, the third instalment was said to be spinning around three smaller episodes with higher frequency.

As far as the release of the third instalment is concerned, it was initially announced in 2007. Since its announcement for over a decade, the gaming enthusiasts are still waiting at least to get some official declaration on its progress. Earlier, Gabe Newell said during the announcement that the team was highly aware of trilogy’s ending and there were a bunch of loose ends and narrative arcs that would be coming to a conclusion in episode 3.

Whereas, when against asked about the progress on ‘Half-Life 3’ in September 2009, he opined, “I don’t have anything to say… but yes, of course, we are doing episode three.” Later whenever he was asked about the progress or possible release period, either he avoided or rejected to answer.

However, among several rumors, one recent rumor recently highlighted by Daily Star that the long-awaited third part of ‘Half-Life’ game would feature a deaf character who would be using sign language. This might have emerged from Newell’s comment who once said that Valve had been in a development process to work on sign language and the interpreters.
