The Minister of Health is already preparing for the celebration of World Health Day on April 7th. This year, the Comorian government will focus on Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The world will celebrate the health day on April 7 will have a theme of "Commit to universal health coverage". Rashid Mohamed Mbaraka Fatma took the opportunity to announce that throughout 2018, the Union of Comoros as a Member State will focus on Universal Health Coverage (UHC), a national priority.

"Universal health coverage means that all people and communities have the health services they need, when and where they need them. The CSU prevents the individual from being forced into poverty when he has to pay directly out of his pocket for health services, explains the Minister of Health. It also allows anyone to access services to deal with the most important causes of illness and death. "

Worldwide, at least 50 percent of the population does not benefit from the health services they need. For this, many people must play a major role in advocating for UHC including authorities, nonprofit organizations, and health professionals.

"For the Union of Comoros, the CSU is a priority of the government led by the Head of State with the establishment of a Generalized Health Insurance (AMG)," she continues, adding that "this "means ensuring that everyone across the country has access to essential, quality health services without financial hardship."

UHC provides access to quality essential health care and financial protection; for the minister, it improves people's health and life expectancy and also protects populations from epidemics
