Poland's PMI data for August may indicate that the peak of the economic cycle is coming to an end, Finance Minister Teresa Czerwinska said on Monday.

The IHS Markit Poland Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index fell to 51.4 in August from 52.9 in July, the lowest reading since October 2016, a business survey showed on Monday.

"August PMI data signals a slowdown in the Polish industry sector and may indicate that we have the peak of an economic cycle behind us," Czerwinska was quoted as saying in a statement emailed to Reuters.
