Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday virtually flagged off six new Vande Bharat trains for Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar and UP from Ranchi, following poor weather conditions that prevented his chopper from taking off from Tatanagar.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar attended the ceremony at Tatanagar station.
The newly launched trains will improve connectivity on routes including Tatanagar-Patna, Brahmapur-Tatanagar, Rourkela-Howrah, Deoghar-Varanasi, Bhagalpur-Howrah, and Gaya-Howrah. According to the Prime Minister's Office, the express trains will serve regular travelers, professionals, businesses, and students, while also boosting religious tourism and local industries.
