Mumbai's New Coastal Marvel: Iconic Bow-String Arch Bridge Unveiled

In a significant development for Mumbai's infrastructure, global construction and engineering powerhouse Egis inaugurated an iconic bow-string arch bridge connecting to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link as part of the Mumbai Coastal Road Project. The bridge opening ceremony was led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
As the Project Management Consultant, Egis was pivotal in the project's success, overseeing design review and construction supervision while ensuring adherence to technical specifications. The company's efforts were crucial in tackling engineering challenges like erecting the 136-meter bow-string arch span, while also offering specialized training to local municipality staff.
On the project's achievement, Sandeep Gulati, Managing Director at Egis India, expressed pride in their role, highlighting the project's groundbreaking aspects like the construction of India's first monopile foundations and other pioneering engineering techniques. The project also integrates sustainable eco-designs, establishing artificial coral reefs and utilizing natural materials to protect marine environments.
