India and the United States are taking significant steps to broaden their strategic partnership, with President Donald Trump revealing after discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the US is set to supply F-35 fighter jets to India as part of a multibillion-dollar expansion in military supplies.
Highlighting a special bond between the two democracies, talks focused on shoring up cooperation in energy, critical technologies, and connectivity. 'We will be increasing military sales to India by many billions of dollars,' Trump stated, detailing the US's readiness to supply F-35 stealth fighters to India.
The meeting also emphasized collaboration on counterterrorism, economic corridors, and expanding trade, with an ambitious trade framework and defence cooperation slated for the coming decade, further solidifying ties between the two nations.
