North Central Railway's Revenue Soars During Maha Kumbh

The North Central Railway (NCR) reported an impressive revenue milestone of Rs 159 crore as it successfully catered to nearly five crore passengers during the recent Maha Kumbh, a marked increase from the Rs 29 crore earned in 2019, according to a senior railway official.
Himanshu Shukla, the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, highlighted the railways' dedication to safe and smooth pilgrimage transportation. He noted that pilgrims willingly paid their fares, reflecting commendable public cooperation. The model used will inspire operations for the upcoming Khatu Shyam Mela.
NCR's Chief PRO, Shashikant Tripathi, emphasized the unprecedented inter-departmental coordination that underpinned the Kumbh's success. Despite rising travel expenses in other modes of transport, railways offered stable fares, ensuring affordability for devotees.
