The passenger, Balwan Das, had registered a complaint using the RailMadad grievance redressal platform after being overcharged for a water bottle while traveling on the Hemkunt Express. Despite contacting authorities, he faced threats and physical aggression from the catering staff, as evidenced in the video.
The Ministry of Railway, alongside the Government Railway Police, is handling the case with seriousness and scrutiny. An investigation is underway following the lodgment of an FIR, with further actions expected based on the outcome. The incident has sparked discussions on passenger safety aboard Indian trains.
