India's position in the global semiconductor landscape was spotlighted by Katsuhito Kobayashi, Executive Officer and Regional General Manager of Nippon Express (South Asia and Oceania) PTE Ltd. Speaking at Semicon India 2025, Kobayashi emphasized the strategic significance of India in the realm of semiconductor logistics, underscoring the industry's inherently sensitive supply chain demands.
In his remarks, Kobayashi reiterated Nippon Express's commitment to delivering logistics services in India on par with global standards. He expressed readiness to support the Make in India semiconductor mission, identifying regions like Gujarat as potential hubs. According to Kobayashi, Nippon Express is positioned as a pivotal enabler within the burgeoning Indian semiconductor ecosystem.
The inaugural ceremony of India Semicon 2025 also heard Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisage India's semiconductor future, remarking that chips made in India would soon drive global change. The recent launch of an OSAT Pilot Line Facility in Gujarat signifies a key milestone, advancing India's semiconductor mission, and aiming to fortify its electronics value chain.
