The Karnataka Infrastructure Development Minister, M B Patil, announced that the Airports Authority of India's expert team is set to deliver its assessment of potential locations for Bengaluru's second international airport in a few days.
Patil emphasized that the upcoming report, upon Cabinet review, will guide the government's decision on the new airport's site, factoring in financial viability and regional demands. Despite recommendations, the location will ultimately depend on practical considerations.
Minister Patil noted concerns about proximity restrictions to Kempegowda International Airport and emphasized preparing groundwork promptly, with completion aimed for 2033. Suggestions for new sites include Tumakuru, driven by various logistical factors.
