Massive Road Infrastructure Boost: Odisha Gets Rs 44,771 Crore Nod

The Indian government has given a substantial push to infrastructure in Odisha by approving road projects worth Rs 44,771 crore. This financial endorsement includes a strategic thoroughfare project connecting Bhubaneswar and Paradip.
State minister Prithiviraj Harichandan revealed that these funds aim to enhance both national and state highways. The funds also cover five national highway projects, several state highways, and other critical infrastructure developments under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
Key projects include widening roads between Bhubaneswar and Puri, and several significant stretches such as Tangi-Puintola-Ichchapuram and Rourkela-Barbil-Paradip. Notably, a greenfield project for a road between Bhubaneswar and Paradip is poised to bolster the connectivity with the growing port city, with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari endorsing the move.
