Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has sought the Union Government's backing to set up a Quantum Materials Innovation Network, Q-MINt, in Bengaluru, aiming to make Karnataka a cornerstone in the National Quantum Mission.
In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Siddaramaiah highlighted Karnataka's infrastructure and talent pool in quantum technology, emphasizing that Q-MINt could provide a boost to quantum computing, communication, sensing, and advanced materials.
The Chief Minister outlined a vision for a capital investment of Rs 150 crore under the National Quantum Mission for developing infrastructure and collaborative networks to advance R&D, startups, and industries in quantum technologies, fostering innovation and economic growth.
