Panic inquiries for domestic LPG cylinders have surged across gas agencies in Bengaluru, sparked by concerns of supply disruptions due to escalating tensions in West Asia. Although gas dealers maintained that domestic stocks remain sufficient, commercial LPG cylinders are in short supply, straining hotels and food services.
The crisis has prompted several establishments, including restaurants and PG accommodations, to initiate emergency measures like modifying menus to manage existing resources efficiently. Arun Kumar, leading the PG Association, confirmed the implementation of a 'crisis menu' to ensure uninterrupted meal services, focusing on low-consumption dishes.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has reached out to Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, requesting intervention to stabilize commercial LPG supplies. This situation threatens operational continuity for numerous city establishments, potentially leaving students and professionals without adequate meal services.
