IIM-Guwahati Set to Launch Courses Next Academic Year: Assam CM

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Guwahati is set to start offering courses from the next academic year, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared on Wednesday after discussions with Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Chief Minister Sarma expressed his gratitude for the minister's agreement to the initiative, and highlighted the discussions on the Government of India's support under PM-USHA, a central scheme designed to finance state institutions.
The dialogue also focused on strengthening the Teacher Training Institute and enhancing technical education in Assam, using the National Education Policy (NEP) as the guiding principle to make the educational landscape more vibrant. Education Minister Pradhan affirmed the ministry's commitment to equitable access and quality education, aiming to transform Assam into a growth engine.
