In a significant move to enrich the educational experience, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in Uttarakhand has introduced the book 'Hamari Virasat Evam Vibhutiyan' across all private schools, as announced by State School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat.

Addressing the media, Dr. Rawat emphasized that this initiative aims to familiarize both local and international students with Uttarakhand's rich cultural diversity and folk heritage. The state cabinet's recent decision will see the book incorporated into the syllabus for classes six to eight.

The minister also outlined plans to reduce the weight of school bags and implement a monthly 'Bag Free Day' for innovative learning. A new 'Teaching Sharing Program' will facilitate resource sharing between private and public schools, aiming for optimal use of facilities like laboratories and playgrounds.
