A young medical student's life was tragically cut short as academic stress took a deadly toll. Utkarsh M. Shingne, a 19-year-old AIIMS Bhopal student, allegedly committed suicide in Pune, raising concerns over mental health issues among students.
Police reported that Shingne, hailing from Maharashtra's Beed district, was found dead in the bathroom of a flat in Wanowrie. His suicide note, discovered on WhatsApp, cited academic stress resulting from curriculum changes and class attendance as key reasons for his actions.
Shingne, an outstanding performer who scored 710 out of 720 in NEET, had been under medical treatment for depression. As the investigation unfolds, this incident underscores the need for addressing mental health in the academic sector.
