In a significant move aimed at addressing teacher vacancies in West Bengal, Education Minister Bratya Basu announced that the Primary Education Board will open an online portal starting November 19. This portal will be available for candidates who passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
The initiative allows qualified candidates to apply for assistant teacher positions in state-run and state-approved primary and junior basic schools, marking a crucial step in recruiting under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The announcement comes closely after the TET 2023 results, unveiled on September 24, where only 6,754 out of 2,73,147 aspirants qualified, highlighting the need for this timely administrative action.
