In a significant move to enhance academic focus, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has declared a complete ban on mobile phones for students from pre-nursery to Class XII starting the upcoming academic session.
Teachers, however, will still have access to their devices, limited to staff rooms or when stored in their bags, according to the CM's statement.
The announcement came as part of the inauguration of state-of-the-art facilities at the Directorate of Samagra Shiksha, ushering in new advancements such as the Vidya Samiksha Kendra, aimed at revolutionizing digital education governance in the state.
