Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais on Saturday unveiled the book 'Gateways to the Sea – Historic Ports and Docks of Mumbai Region' at an event held at Raj Bhavan.

Compiled by the Maritime Mumbai Museum Society, the book delves into the historical significance of various ports and docks in the Mumbai region including Sopara, Vasai, Versova, Mahim, Alibag, and Chaul, according to an official release from Raj Bhavan.

Published by the Publications Division of the Government of India, the book features contributions from historians, researchers, maritime experts, conservation architects, and writers across its 18 informative chapters.
