Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar launched his party's 'Jan Sanman Yatra' from Dindori in Nashik on Thursday, effectively kicking off the NCP's campaign for the upcoming assembly polls.
Addressing the crowd, Pawar described the yatra as a 'religious journey' and said he considers himself a 'jan sevak' (servant of the masses). Highlighting the numerous welfare schemes announced in the 2024-25 budget, he singled out the Ladki Bahin Yojana aimed at empowering women by directly transferring funds to their accounts.
Pawar also took the opportunity to criticize opposition parties for allegedly attempting to shut down the scheme and to project their anti-women stance. Additionally, he covered the scope of various big-ticket projects and further welfare initiatives designed to benefit marginalized groups.
