BJP MPs on Friday criticized opposition parties for their silence on the ongoing crisis facing Hindus and other minority communities in Bangladesh. Several Hindu temples, households, and businesses have been vandalized following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's resignation amid deadly protests against her government over a controversial quota system in jobs.

During the Zero Hour of the Lok Sabha, BJP MP Anurag Thakur criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for not speaking out on the safety of minorities in Bangladesh. Thakur highlighted that although Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the interim government, he also urged them to ensure the safety of minorities.

BJP leaders, including MPs Rudra Narayan Pany and Dilip Saikia, called for diplomatic intervention from India and stronger security along the India-Bangladesh border. They urged the government to ensure the protection of minorities in Bangladesh and condemned the attacks on Hindu temples, including the statue of Lord Jagannath. Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus has taken over as the head of the interim government, replacing Hasina.
