Veteran Marathi Actor Vijay Kadam Passes Away at 66
Veteran Marathi theater and film actor Vijay Kadam, aged 66, passed away on Saturday after battling cancer for one and a half years. Known for his comedy roles in the 1980s, Kadam made significant contributions to Marathi theater and cinema. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde paid tribute to him.

Kadam had been battling cancer for the past one and a half years. He began his career as a child actor in theater and gained recognition for his comedic roles in the 1980s.
Over the next two decades, Kadam diversified his roles in theater, television serials, and films. Notable plays include ''Rathchakra,'' ''Vichcha Majhi Puri Kara,'' and ''Sahi Re Sahi.'' He also acted in Marathi films like ''Irsal Karti'' and ''Vasudev Balwant Phadke,'' as well as Bollywood movies including ''Ghar Ek Mandir'' and ''Aflatoon.''
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde paid tribute on X, highlighting Kadam's natural acting style, comic timing, and wit. ''Marathi theater has suffered a tremendous loss due to the death of this versatile actor,'' said Shinde, acknowledging Kadam's contributions to Maharashtra's entertainment world.
