India Unveils ASEAN-India Fellowship for Agricultural Education
The Indian government has launched the ASEAN-India fellowship programme to enhance agricultural education ties with Southeast Asian nations. Over the next five years, fifty fellowships will be provided to ASEAN students, covering master's degrees in agriculture and allied sciences. In a significant move to strengthen agricultural ties with Southeast Asian nations, the Indian government on Wednesday introduced the ASEAN-India fellowship programme for higher education in agriculture and allied sciences.
Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the initiative, which will award fifty fellowships to students from ASEAN countries over five years starting from the 2024-25 academic year.
Each year, ten fellowships will be available for master's degree programmes in agriculture and allied sectors, with a deadline of August 27 for the first batch. Funded by the ASEAN-India Fund, the programme will cover admission fees, living expenses, and additional costs for the selected students.
