Actor-director Rishab Shetty, recently honored with the Best Actor Award at the 70th National Film Awards, declared on Friday that he will no longer make 'festival type' films.
In a press briefing organized for his win for his role in the Kannada film 'Kantara,' Shetty highlighted the challenges faced due to limited support from OTT platforms for Kannada content.
He emphasized that despite winning awards at festivals, Kannada films often struggle for distribution and recovery, leading creators to opt for platforms like YouTube. Shetty clarified that he has made three such festival films and has more in the pipeline but is now reconsidering his approach.
