Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh to Lead Indian Air Force as New Chief

Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh, a distinguished fighter pilot with over 5,000 flying hours, is set to become the new chief of the Indian Air Force after Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari retires. Singh aims to modernize the force and address regional security challenges.

Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh, a fighter pilot with more than 5,000 hours of flying experience, will take charge as the chief of the Indian Air Force after incumbent Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari retires on September 30.

Currently serving as the Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Singh was appointed by the government to the top position, beginning his term on the afternoon of September 30.

As Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Singh's priorities include procuring new fighter fleets and advancing the modernisation agenda of the force, especially given the region's evolving security landscape, including challenges along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.
