In a surprising turn, director Rahi Anil Barve has revealed he will not be involved in the sequel to his critically acclaimed film 'Tumbbad'. This announcement comes shortly after lead star and producer Sohum Shah confirmed the franchise's continuation.
Barve's comments followed the re-release of 'Tumbbad,' which originally premiered in 2018, and returned to theatres on September 13. The director disclosed his plans to focus on his ongoing trilogy, which includes 'Tumbbad,' 'Pahadpangira,' and 'Pakshitirtha.'
"For decades I worked on this insane trilogy with many producers changing in between. First was the greed of patriarchy. My personal and much darker version of father, son, and the holy ghost. Second deals with the dawn of feminism and holier than holy satipratha—'Pahadpangira'. Third, the end of this trilogy will be 'Pakshitirtha.' That's all I have to say for now," Barve stated in an X post Saturday night.
