In a notable event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extolled the historical drama 'Chhaava,' starring Vicky Kaushal, for its vivid depiction of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's valor. The acknowledgment came during PM Modi's address at the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in New Delhi.
Highlighting Maharashtra's pivotal role in enhancing Marathi and Hindi cinema, PM Modi particularly underscored 'Chhaava's growing acclaim nationwide. He remarked that Maharashtra and Mumbai have been instrumental in elevating both industries, and that 'Chhaava' is garnering widespread attention presently.
Vicky Kaushal, moved by the Prime Minister's commendation, shared his gratitude on Instagram, while co-star Rashmika Mandanna also expressed her appreciation through social media. Under Laxman Utekar's direction, the film has performed exceptionally well, crossing the Rs 200 crore milestone since its release.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted that 'Chhaava' surged past the Rs 200 crore mark, driven by strong viewership during the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti. The film, also featuring Akshaye Khanna, has captivated audiences with its enthralling narrative of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, predominantly resonating in Maharashtra but also drawing audiences in Rajasthan and West Bengal.
