Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced his two-day visit to Assam, landing at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport to a warm welcome from Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other state officials. The Prime Minister was greeted with a traditional 'gamosa' and cultural performances by artists from various tribes.
On the first day of his visit, Modi attended the 'Jhumoir Binanandini' cultural event at the Sarusajai Sports Complex, where nearly 9,000 tea tribe community artists performed. The event included a special round for Modi to interact with the crowd, followed by a laser show highlighting Assam's cultural heritage.
In addition to cultural appreciation, Modi will inaugurate the Advantage Assam 2.0 Infrastructure and Investment Summit. The summit features two galleries, 'Pride of Assam' and 'Future of Assam', showcasing traditional and modern industries, respectively. The Prime Minister's visit underscores the state's cultural richness and economic potential.
