Addressing the 12th National Students' Convocation of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), she urged corporates to keep environmental costs in mind.

Murmu emphasized the pivotal role of accountants in ensuring accountability, drawing a connection between historical and modern practices. She recounted how Mahatma Gandhi mastered accounting to ensure efficient fund use, underscoring cost-efficiency as crucial not just for saving money but conserving resources.

The President remarked on the global climate crisis, stating that corporate sectors must evolve beyond profit motives and consider environmental implications. She called on accountants to drive significant change. Meanwhile, Corporate Affairs Secretary Deepti Gaur Mukerjee urged accountants to adopt technology and innovation as India aims for a USD 30-trillion economy.
