The Goa government is taking action to monitor accommodations listed on online travel agency platforms, as per tourism minister Rohan Khaunte's announcement. The move aims to ensure all properties are properly registered with the relevant authorities.
BJP MLA Michael Lobo voiced concerns in the assembly about homestays in residential areas that often disturb locals with unruly tourists. In response, Khaunte stressed the need for regular monitoring and registration compliance.
Many second homes are being used as tourist accommodations without informing authorities, raising community concerns. Khaunte urged housing societies to report unauthorized guest houses, assuring a balanced approach to protect residents and support tourism.
