India Honored with Prestigious ISSA Award for Social Security Achievements

India was awarded the International Social Security Association (ISSA) Award for its significant advancements in social security. As the fifth recipient since 2013, India joins a list of global leaders. The award highlights India's progress in social protection, boosted by technology and policy reforms to enhance coverage and opportunities.

India has been recognized globally by receiving the International Social Security Association (ISSA) Award, marking it as the fifth country to achieve this honor. The Ministry of Labour & Employment announced the accolade for outstanding advances in social security.

The ISSA Award, presented triennially at the World Social Security Forum, highlights India's advancements in inclusive and universal social protection, a vision driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya accepted the award, underscoring India's leap in social security coverage from 19% to 64.3% over the past decade.

India's strategy leverages technology and comprehensive reforms, integrating various schemes to form a robust social safety net. Initiatives like PM POSHAN, Janani Suraksha Yojana, PM-KISAN, and the National Old Age Pension Scheme exemplify this integrated approach, ensuring comprehensive support for citizens at all life stages.
