The National Zoological Park has commenced its winter preparedness protocol, introducing an array of measures tailored to ensure the well-being of its inhabitants. From young primates receiving warm blankets to goats getting extra straw, the zoo is adapting to the falling temperatures with precision and care.
Zoo Director Sanjeet Kumar detailed the species- and age-specific efforts underway, emphasizing the importance of maintaining comfort and health as the colder months advance. Heating arrangements and nutritional adjustments, including the introduction of diets with nuts and jaggery, are part of a robust strategy to support animal welfare.
Despite its location in a green zone, the zoo remains vigilant regarding pollution, with initiatives like water sprinkling to control dust. These comprehensive measures reflect a proactive approach to zoo management, aiming to balance environmental conditions and optimal animal care as winter progresses.
