Tensions are rising at the Bhojshala-Kamal Moula Mosque in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district, with the upcoming Basant Panchami falling on a Friday, a day of significance for both Hindus and Muslims. The Hindu community, represented by the Bhoj Utsav Committee, seeks to conduct uninterrupted puja on January 23.
In contrast, the Muslim community is requesting to maintain their customary Friday prayers at the Kamal Moula mosque from 1pm to 3pm. The Archaeological Survey of India's existing mandate allows Hindus access on Tuesdays and Muslims on Fridays, setting the stage for potential conflict on this particular Friday.
Local authorities are coordinating efforts to maintain harmony and prevent any disruptions. While Muslim leader Zulfiqar Pathan underlines their commitment to peace, emphasizing the mosque's historical and religious significance, Hindu leader Ashok Jain warns of protests if their requests are denied. The administration remains vigilant to uphold order during the contentious occasion.
