Prime Minister Narendra Modi took aim at the opposition on Friday, accusing them of attempting to scrap the Tejas jet project and committing defence-related scams worth thousands of crores. He made these remarks during the Kargil Vijay Diwas Shradhanjali Samaroh in Drass, Ladakh.

Modi emphasized that for his administration, the Army represents the faith and security of 140 crore countrymen, stating, "For some, the Army meant saluting politicians and doing parades, but for us, it means the guarantee of peace and security for the nation." He criticized the opposition for politicizing national security and misleading the youth.

He further attacked the opposition over their stance on the One Rank, One Pension scheme and their failure to provide adequate resources for soldiers. Modi highlighted the government's prioritization of defence reforms and local procurement, stating that India's defence production has now exceeded Rs 1.25 lakh crore.

PM Modi paid tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1999 Kargil War, commemorating the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas. He laid a wreath at the Kargil War Memorial and stressed that the victory in Kargil was a triumph of the nation, not any political party.
