Parliament Set to Discuss J&K Budget Bill Amidst Ongoing Budget Session

The Parliament will discuss the Jammu and Kashmir Appropriation Bill, 2024, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while continuing discussions on the Union Budget 2024-25. The session will also include statements on various reports by Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse.

The Parliament is set to convene on Monday for the ongoing Budget Session, with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introducing the Jammu and Kashmir Appropriation Bill, 2024, in the Lok Sabha. The bill seeks authorization for payments from the Consolidated Fund for the Union Territory's 2024-25 fiscal year. This was confirmed by the agenda of the day's business.

The Appropriation Bill aims to facilitate the financial operations of Jammu and Kashmir for the upcoming fiscal year. Additionally, discussions on the Union Budget 2024-25 will continue in both Houses. The ongoing deliberations follow the initial presentation of the Union Budget on July 23.

Meanwhile, the budget for Jammu and Kashmir for the year 2024-25 will also be up for further discussion. Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse, is expected to deliver several statements in the Lok Sabha, covering the implementation status of multiple reports by the Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth, and Sports.

Khadse will outline the progress on recommendations from the 327th, 332nd, and 339th reports, as well as those from subsequent reports regarding the demands for grants from 2022 to 2024. This comprehensive briefing aims to update the House on actions taken by the Department of Sports and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Additional matters in Monday's agenda include papers to be laid by various Union Ministers, such as Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Pankaj Chaudhary. Furthermore, Minister Bhupender Yadav will move a motion for the election of two members to the National Tiger Conservation Authority.
