Modi Unveils 109 Climate-Resilient Seed Varieties to Boost Farm Productivity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released 109 high-yielding, climate-resilient seed varieties developed by ICAR to improve agricultural productivity and farmers' income. The varieties span both field and horticultural crops. Modi emphasized value addition and the benefits of natural and organic farming, urging Krishi Vigyan Kendras to promote these new varieties.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated 109 high-yielding, climate-resilient, and biofortified seed varieties of agricultural and horticultural crops, aimed at boosting farm productivity and farmers' income.

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) developed the new varieties, covering 61 crops, including 34 field crops and 27 horticultural crops.

Modi unveiled the seeds at Delhi's Pusa Campus, where he interacted with farmers and scientists, stressing the significance of value addition in agriculture and the role of these new varieties.
