In an aggressive critique, the Congress party has condemned the BJP-led central government for its alleged 'stepmotherly treatment' towards the North East. This attack follows a bomb blast in Manipur's Kangpokpi district, which tragically claimed the life of Charubala, wife of former MLA Yamthong Haokip.
The explosion occurred on Saturday afternoon at Haokip's residence, with Assam Congress taking to its official microblogging site X to remark, 'Bomb blast in the house of Ex-MLA in Manipur. Spouse killed, ex-MLA and daughter luckily escaped unharmed.'
Accusations were further directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The post read, 'PM Narendra Modi can fly to foreign nations but doesn't get time to visit one of his states. Home Minister Amit Shah, how many more need to die before you take up this issue seriously? Why this stepmotherly behaviour towards NorthEast?' The motive behind the attack remains unclear, with police currently investigating. Further details are awaited. (ANI)
