Uttarakhand CM Meets Agitators, Celebrates Job Reservation Bill Passage

On Monday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with state agitators and their dependents to express gratitude for the newly passed bill granting 10 per cent reservation in government jobs. The meeting took place in Khatima, Uttarakhand.

Chief Minister Dhami underscored the government's ongoing efforts to meet public interest resolutions. He highlighted the fulfillment of promises made to the state agitators, stating, "We have fulfilled our promise to the State Agitators." Dhami commended the agitators for their contributions to the formation of Uttarakhand state, emphasizing that the reservation bill was necessary to secure their rights.

Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd) approved the bill on August 18, addressing a longstanding demand of the state agitators. The Chief Minister praised the agitators' enduring struggle and sacrifice, reaffirming the government's dedication to their cause.
