Kanika Chawla, Director and Chief of Staff at Sustainable Energy For All, emphasized India's committed approach to renewable energy at the Singapore International Energy Week. Chawla highlighted the government's performance-linked incentives to promote local manufacturing, enhance security, and reduce import dependency. She noted the job-intensive nature of clean energy solutions.
India is exploring geothermal options and offshore wind energy potential, alongside focusing on price reduction to expand the market. Additionally, the country is partnering internationally in green hydrogen and employing nuclear energy strategies, with an ambitious target of 500 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030.
